Now, will your new recognition allow your signature/image/icon to return? :dntknw: I'm pretty sure the software allows us to upload a file for that, no externally store graphics required. :whistling:

I'd love to fix that. What would the link be to upload that file? I have an addy in my profile but obviously it's to an old place on the previous software.

Well now, this is interesting.

When I came to TS via my usual bookmark I got the same "Guest" situation. However I immediately went to the Tech Forum anyway to read what you all had posted. I figured I'd try your suggestions first before logging in to reply.

After looking over all your kind and comprehensive ideas  :) , I looked up at the top of the page to see "Hello krissel"!

What the...?   Now it sees me but I didn't log in.

Soooo, after a bit of exploring, I discovered that somehow the problem was related to both bookmarks to TS that I had been using ever since we moved here. Why that should be, I have no idea.

I've created a new one which seems to recognize me upon arrival.    Thank you for all your advice.

I noticed that lately when I come here I'm recognized as a guest despite having logged in the day before and choosing "Forever". This is the first time I've ever had this problem.

I dumped cookies but then it wouldn't let me sign in at all telling me "Unable to verify referring url. Please go back and try again." Tried many times by going to other sites first, using new tabs, choosing one month, etc. Finally got in by using the link in an email sent regarding a personal message. It brought up a different log in window which finally let me in.

This isn't part of social distancing is it?   :whistling:

I'll bet this is discussed in a thread somewhere previously but if so, I can't find it. (using Firefox BTW)

Any thoughts?

Second the recommendation of Elements and the Affinity products (Affinity Photo and Designer).  Used to use the basic Pixelmator but have not gone over to the pro version. Don't have a favorite other than to say Elements is probably the easiest to use if you have had Photoshop in the past.

Yeah, that's about the same here. Usually two or three strains are included with the hope that they pick the right ones. At least it's one thing we don't have to pay for.

I love "Escape to the Country". It started airing here a couple months ago on an off-channel and it is so delightful to see the old barns that have been converted. Still, I do tend to go for the more modern updates. There was one house I absolutely fell in love with that had an indoor pool in a separate space but easily accessed from the main house. The interior was very modern and just my style. Had lots of land and a nice view, too. Don't remember the price but it was definitely worth every penny/pound.

Stay well!

Glad your missus is feeling better, Neil. Hope you don't fall ill. Do they push for flu vaccine over there like they do here?

That request for email and password is part of the puzzle. You don't have to use a real one.  :)

Not planning to commute to Belgium.  :no2:

I did get an offer of a job from the makers of the "puzzle".  As you can see by the hour of night, I was not at my best...heh, look what time it is now.

Did it!  Though it took me 11 minutes 31 seconds to finish all pages to the end. Now that I know how, it would take less time.

Found some info which suggests those script notices may relate to forms of malware that can hijack your browsers and potentially slow down or stop their function. Some can come with add-ons to the browser.

Here are links that may help you find your specific problem (some relate to Windows or a specific program but may still give you some ideas on what to track down).

This is indeed a sad day. Dick was like an uncle to me and a good friend as well. Most of us old timers know how instrumental he was in creating TS, it wouldn't exist but for him. I will miss his soft, almost drawl of a voice which surely did not sound like the Ohio native I believe he was. His generosity was limitless and his love of all things Mac made a believer out of any skeptic.

Quite a guy. His legacy lives on.

Thanks Neil. Those Pilgrims may have been seeking religious freedom but apparently most of their offspring kept  "loyalties" to the Crown for another century and a half.

Today we don't think so much about the origin of the celebration as much as the present gratitude we share for our good fortunes.
