Well, I took the plunge....

Because I had made the mistake of working on our home DSL connection without doing any research, I had been violating the rules by hosting at home and couldn't continue to do so.

I wanted to host at home, so I just ordered the upgrade package on our DSL account to get the 5 static IPs so we can host at home.

Costs an additional $20/month, but to me will be very much worth it, since we can at this point host however we would like to. My wife is a very creative person and I have a sneaking suspicion that we may soon be fighting over use of the primary Mac and Photoshop.

There are several hosting and development projects that I'm planning to work on and am anxious about getting them going.

Would love to have you all's input on it once I get it all going!

If I can get a really good site going, maybe I can at least make enough to offset the extra $20/month.

Not looking to make lots of money on it, really, more for fun.
