Onyx 1.6.9 Doesn't Play Nice With 10.4.6

I haven't read about this problem anywhere else, so I may be the only Mac owner in the Known Universe with this problem (it wouldn't be the first time...)

I tried running Onyx and it would quickly "stall." It happened twice and the only way out was a Force Quit.

I then used Cocktail 3.7.1 (Tiger edition) and it ran just fine.  My iMac doesn't seem to be suffering any ill effects associated with using Onyx.

I have never used Cocktail before now.  I may just have to register it...

I used OnyX just two days ago on 10.4.6 and have nothing to report like this, it worked well for me.

You might try trashing OnyX's pref plist file and see if it works better. The path is:

/Users/your home directory here/Library/Preferences/com.titanium.OnyX.plist

Mayo, I had no problem with Onyx on my G5 IMac.

I trashed the preference file but Onyx still stalls or wants to run a very long time, take your pick... I don't have the patience to see if it ever completes its tasks.

I am using Onyx 1.6.7 with 10.4.5 and its just fine. I would suggest going back to this earlier version, as none of my classmates have had a problem with .7 either.
Let us know how you do with this, as we will want to know before updating.  We didn't get a notifiction of the upgrade?

I am running version 1.6.9 of Onyx  with  OS X 10.4.6 without difficulties.
Are you using the latest version of Onyx.

Better than worry about Onyx, the latest version of CLIX is simply awesome with 1.100 +  shell scripts.

1.6.7 doesn't work either...it stalls at exactly the same spot.

Hi Mayo,  That is a bit worrysome.  Perhaps you could contact them and see if there have been other people with similar problems, and how they fixed it.
Ive not contacted them, but classmates have with success.
I do rely on Onyx, so am very interested in this solution.

I tried running a freshly installed Onyx 1.6.9 and let it Repair Permissions, which I don't recall doing previously.  Onyx apparently did its thing, albeit slowly; I left to watch a segment of "Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers" so I do not know how long it took...maybe ten minutes. When I returned Onyx indicated that it successfully run the scripts.

I do not recall it taking Onyx so long in the past, and that threw me... Does it take that long for you folks? Cocktail didn't take as much time.
