The possible “conclusion” of the Palm portion of this thread may have wider value to more people than just participants, so I’ll add it.
I found when I sought to e-mail Belbram the Palm Mac Manual we were discussing, as expected, it was waaay too large.
Pendragon thereupon came to our mutual aid with a suggestion that has worked beautifully, slickly enabling transmission of the massive document from San Francisco to the Isle of Man – the Palm weighs in at 5.2 oz, its 8 MB Manual at 176 ( 8.5 x 11) pages).
As is usual with Harv, the item he had found was really “news to me”. I surmise others equally unfamiliar with it might benefit from knowledge of it. FYI . . .
It’s called FileChute and it’s function is to lodge, so to speak, very large items/exhibits/files/whatever on one’s iDisk, from which another person can extract them with ease.
So:
- I downloaded FileChutre from Version Tracker. 'Tis shareware.
- Here
- inserted the PDF into its highly intuitive interface and dispatched it forthwith
- informed Peter of its location, and
- BINGO! he had it with ease
Amazing.
Peter and I both thank Harv for another of Harv’s Hints (of the Day!)
