DiskWarrior Quit Tip

Now THAT'S creepy. eek2.gif

Just last night I had a major problem and had to rebuild several partition directories and each time DW finished it quit when the window came up to save the report. I had to restart the app each time and it really drove me nuts and I couldn't save the reports.

Have now renamed the conflicting file and will see what happens next time I use DW.

Thanks kelly!  smile.gif

Kris

FWIW:

I have been using the following technique for over 6 months (on 6 different volumes on 2 different machines), always with no problems.

In my emails with Alsoft, they remained steadfast that the genesis of the problem lies with QT.

1. Quit DiskWarrior 3.x
2. Control click on DiskWarrior 3.x and from the contextual menu select "Show Package Contents"
3. Locate the "Complete.aiff" sound file - the path is: - DiskWarrior 3.x app -> Contents -> Resources -> Complete.aiff
4. Rename the "Complete.aiff" sound file "Alert Complete.aiff" - then close ALL windows"

And joy again returned to Camelot. clap.gif  cheer.gif

Not from me because I hadn't used DW in a while and hadn't encounterd the problem. But coincidence entered and it suddenly became important to me. wink.gif

Harv, I did rename the file and tonight used DW on my Dad's eMac (by booting from the FW external backup) and it didn't crash.
