Nifty kewl link there kelly!
As for noise reduction software in digital photography, about a year ago I tried demos of Visual Infinity’s Grain Surgery, Kodak’s DIGITAL GEM Professional Plug-In, Imagenomic’s Noiseware, ABSoft’s Neat Image and PictureCode’s Noise Ninja (I talk about it a little in this
entry in my blog and have links to the plugins and add
more thoughts here).
I had found that the best of the bunch were Noise Ninja and Noiseware. For some pictures Noise Ninja was better and for others Noiseware came out on top.
The dilemma with reducing noise in digital photographs is that you don't want to loose sharpness and detail in your shots.
