FWIW, I doubt most need that root kit software, especially if we preclude (in browser preferences) automatically opening of "Safe" files upon DL.
Also,
Pacifist ($US 20.00 shareware) allows one to selectively install OS files. It does that, AFAIK, by selectively opening the various packages.
It will also open/look in any other application package, thus one may check the contents of any DL before clicking the "Install".
