What am I doing wrong?
« on: August 27, 2006, 06:34:01 PM »
When I try to color my text, raise the size or put it in bold face type, the instructions show up in my post,  Why is this?  One more question.  What does "guided mode" mean?

As Parker said, you probably aren't closing your tags. Here's a complete set of tags:

CODE
[color=#660000][size=2][b]red X[/b][/size][/color]

The tags with the "/" are the closing tags. They go in the opposite order the start in: color, size, bold ... to ... bold, size, color. smile.gif

The easy way to do this is to look in the upper right hand corner of the reply box. You should see a small symbol with a red X on it. After you set up the font, size, color, etc. click that and it will close your tags for you.

Guided Mode gives you a pop-up window for certain codes. You type whatever in the window and click okay when done. All your tags will be in place when you used guided mode. It works for bold, italic, underline, strikethrough and a few other things.

Hope that helps.

Thank you Kimmer and Parker.  I neverr knew what closing tags meant.  Let's see if this works.  By the way, Parker, it's been drizzly in NY and it's supposed to be showery tomorrow.  But it's cool here.
