Hey everyone,

Was just reading this article on yahoo.
I can imagine that Apple might follow in upgrading some of their laptops.
I'm thinking they might upgrade the MacBook Pro to a more destinctive difference than the MacBook?

Probably - the MacBook Pro is about due for Rev. 2 any day now. That's what I'm waiting for.

why wait for Rev. 2?

does this "new" chip get near as hot as the Intel Core Duo chip?

I don't think it'll make it into Macs... Rev. 2 is going to use the new Core 2 Duo chip

The new memrom chips are cooler and faster. These will be put into the Macbooks and the Macbook Pros within the next few months. They aren't that much faster, but anything that dosen't burn my lap is good with me. I will probably but my MBP up on ebay when the new rev comes out.

idk how much i could get for this on ebay
when the new ones come out, the rev. 1's will be worthless
since the new chips run cooler

idk... i'm sending this in for repair for now
to get the case and isight and optical drive repaired
so i'll let the heat of my iBook G3 spoil me for a while
lol

But isn't that what the "Merom" chips are?
The new Core 2 Duo chip?

I also believe that this chipset is not as much to gain speed but more to gain battery power and battery live, perfect for laptops thus.
