Mac Mail ...
« on: October 09, 2006, 05:11:21 PM »
Beginning this weekend, my mac mail will not download. Fortunately, I had set up the app to forward all mac mail to hotmail, so that I can see what's coming in; nevertheless, it is disconcerting to have a non-functioning application that I have relied upon.

Yes, they have a lot of work to do to make .mac better, everything from the customer service, to the consistency of wording on the Web site, to the uptime of mail.   wallbash.gif

Not sure what is going on with thier service. I just checked my email with POPmonitor and saw one or two at some of my .mac accounts/aliases. Started up Eudora and it claimed there were problems with authentication at .mac. Rechecked POPmonitor and it saw no problems! Tried again with Eudora and it worked fine, also. Perhaps it's aftershocks from N. Korea? dntknw.gif

Whatever is going on has put a glinch in my iTunes acct.  dry.gif  I bought a torch song for Sneakers, and he can't play it without verification of my password. Gave it to him, and it won't go. Says my acct has been disable for security purposes. Since I dumped my "dot-mac" email address when we moved, I figured that was the prob.

After an hour of messing around at their site (where they kept telling me my name was wrong, my birthdate was wrong, my password was wrong ... blah, blah, blah) -- I finally got in, set a new password, new email address and all that. Tried to play my purchased songs and no go.

So I went in to my acct to change things, including home address and stuff, and it won't take it. Keeps telling me the stuff marked in red needs to be fixed, but nothing is marked in red except the mandatory fields and those are all filled in correctly.

I'm totally stumped -- and frustrated. I'll try again tomorrow.  mad.gif
