How to switch Palm address data base from Palm to
« on: November 02, 2006, 12:36:17 AM »
Hey gang,

I am about to buy a Blackberry and the appropriate software (PocketMac) to use it with a Mac. Unfortunately  my address/contact database (~500 contacts) is Palm-based. PocketMac does not seem to sync a Palm database to the Blackberry. So, my question is: How do I transfer my Palm database to one with which PocketMac will recognize and sync with the Blackberry. Do I have to transfer my Palm database to say, a Now Contact database (which PocketMac can handle)? Or, try some other work arounds?

Thanks for any help.

there should be a way to import all of your palm stuff to iCal
if there isn't
just sync your palm to Palm Desktop once,
and then install the Palm iSync Conduit and sync your Palm with Address Book and iCal.

Congrats on the upgrade!

Parker,

Thanks much for your advice. A couple of more  more questions, 1)I understand the Blackberry does not allow a home plus a work address. If so, how does one get around this as I have many contacts that I will need both addresses; and, will the Blackberry handle multiple phone numbers, e-mail addys, URLs, etc?

Thanks,

This i am still trying to investigate
On the blackberry you can enter both a work and home address
so i don't know why PocketMac doesn't synchronize them both.
