One trip can cause a lifetime of enjoyment!  Went toDoctor Joe's Music page and while listening to some oldies and goodies, ran across Bessie Smith-Need a little Sugar in My Bowl

Went looking on live 365 for stations playing Bessie and ran across Female Blues Spot - Huge collection of female blues artists from the early 1920's to today. Great women vocalists, musicians and songwriters of the blues!  All female blues, all the time!  Heard some really good songs, one from a compilation  Men Are Like Street Cars: Women Blues Singers 1928-1969  Now, of course, I want it!  But, I can't find one, weell, except for one that is $80.

So, (yes, I hear those sighs of relief-she's FINALLY getting to the point) anyone know of a source to purchase the CD?

Reminds me of a very short Steve Goodman song. Even though it's short, I don't remember all of it. It's been awhile, but the relevant part goes something like this:

"...if B.B. King and I were both drowning, which one would you choose?

I ain't never heard you sing no blues!"

Oh, please don't misunderstand, I love most blues.  It's just that collection is SO very good.  My Music in iTunes is all blues stations......
