OT, amazing picture of the eclipse
« on: March 10, 2007, 09:42:03 AM »
A week ago, we were hoping that we could see the eclipse, but it was cloudy here.
And our local weather station said it was not going to clear until way after the thing was over with.
So sadly we said the heck with walking over to the beach where the moon is really visible, with our cameras.
But later in the evening, I noticed that the clouds were breaking up here in SE MA, so went out to look.  Just at the very very end of the eclipse, the clouds went away and I could see it for a few minutes.  But at least we got a glimpse of it here in our area.  Boston stayed cloudy, so our daughter said.  The grandkids up there missed it.

But my husband just told me to look at this today,

what a great picture!

Wow, Jane!  Thanks for the links; we pretty much missed it entirely here!

Oh, thats another beauty, I ve been looking thru their archives on my husband's new Mac.
He built a nice telescope many years ago when one of our kids needed a science project, I should say, they built it.  Got a 6 inch mirror. But now we have a bit more light pollution around here, so we are taking it up to Maine this summer to our daughter's in laws house where there is no electricity(except for their generator), so there is no light pollution on their side of the mountain.
Cant wait, that will be amazing viewing up there.
