Terry, you may need to install the drivers (software) for the PC side.
I don't know what setup you have so I can't give you details.
This is a bad set of movies on the subject, but you can see in there that software is needed in this setup.
I had a USB setup before they installed broadband here, but I've not had a reason to use it since.
