Apple TV is a Winner!!!
« on: April 08, 2007, 01:12:05 PM »
My son, who lives in Denver (we are visiting) moved into a new home last fall & the house is wired for the computer age - ethernet outlets in every room. Saturday he bought an Apple TV & it took him about 5 minutes to interface it to his PC computer over the ethernet network & his 50" plasma TV. We watched a movie stored on his computer & also some digital pictures. Will also play music stored on his computer. Apple TV will also work wireless, but the hard-wired ethernet is best.

Overall, I'd say Apple TV is a Winner!!!
Cheers, Tom

Ignorant question: Does the Apple TV drive the display over ethernet directly or what is the display hooked onto?

The Apple TV output plugs directly into the TV. The ethernet cable plugs into the Apple TV. This link explains things better than I can.

Thanks, I don't have access to any display with that kind of connection on it; just plain old television so far here!   smile.gif   That WIKI seemed to have a lot of links on it that I hadn't seen yet; thanks for the resource.
