I believe it was in Panther, that one could change the load order of applications in Accounts/Login Items. Usually this is not an issue, but it may be…

Alas, that feature/capability disappeared in Tiger.  sad.gif

But now, thanks to the recently released/updated TinkerTool 3.7 (freeware), that feature (and several others) is once again available.  clap.gif

Enjoy.

Ah, for the good old days... when you could just add a space at the beginning of the name to bump something to the top of the list.

Wait a minute! Those days are not gone! OS9 lives on!! tongue.gif
Ya gotta applaud those bunnies for sacrificing their hearing just so some guy in Cupertino can have better TV reception.

That's a nice added feature, I think. So far I've not run into any conflicts that were attributable to the order of loading. but I can think of a few TS members who might appreciate being able to change the order so they can have an alphabetically listed group! And maybe the next update will include a 'divider' option to allow separating the list into different 'types' of apps; "Utilities, Internet related, GUI, System hacks, etc.".

ABD, About the only advantage/need I have re the ability to change the load order, relates to the items in the menu bar.

I prefer them in a specific order/location. Up till now, I have had to quit some and then reload them so they would appear in the "proper" location. And that was fine, until the next time I restarted. Then the menulets would again load as the gods divined. rant.gif

But since I installed the new TT, and set the load order as I prefer, that issue is but a distant memory. clap.gif

Ah! That could be useful, indeed! Especially now that Restarting is somewhat more useful with your "Memorystick" app. I really like Metorologist but I'd rather lose it than some others when an apps menu need a lot of menu bar space. I'll see if loading it last can force it farthest to the left to facilitate that. dntknw.gif

I (too) prefer Meteorologist farthest to the left/load last, and after setting it that way in TT, it loads that way on my G4 and on my Intel machine. YMMV.
