IRS responds to Mac user
« on: May 17, 2007, 12:21:52 AM »
Yes, ME!  smile.gif

I was at the IRS site recently to download some of the tax forms. The main page where they are all listed tells users to hold down the Control key to select more than one file at a time. Well, that's not true on the Mac, it's the Command key that is used to select multiple items in a list.

So I went to the comment page and sent off that bit of information and also thanked them for at least acknowledging on another part of the site that Macs exist.

Lo and behold I received an email a few days later...

Thanks for your comment.  We try to take into account our many Mac users.  I myself use a G4 desktop and laptop.

Fresh eyes help us make our site work better.  We will try to make the changes you suggest timely.

Thanks.

Wow, we've got a friend at the IRS! Kris, did you write back to him and invite him to stop by TS? If you do, be sure to ask him when his birthday is. We want to keep those folks happy. toothgrin.gif

A couple of IMacs, an iPad, a bunch of iPhones...two of which don’t live here, but I still pay for. Oh yeah, wife, daughters, and yes—a grandson!

That's amazing, especially coming from a government office. You rarely get that kind of response from anyplace.
Ya gotta applaud those bunnies for sacrificing their hearing just so some guy in Cupertino can have better TV reception.

Wow, that is pretty cool Kris!

I'm impressed, for many reasons, both with you and the guy at the IRS.

Way to go, there may be hope for us all yet!
