Just returned from an enjoyable short trip to our church. I noticed there was someone in the Pastor's office. Turned out to be the "tech support" fellow from a company who we pay monthly to keep things humming on the LAN and the five Dells. A few weeks ago he had installed DVD drives on all the machines. Apparently one of the things one leaves off a PC to keep the costs down.
On that occasion, I only had to repair one users ability to send/receive email.
Seems like every time the "tech" does something, something else breaks...
Anyway, he's trying to get a DVD to play on the Pastor's PC. He can get the video to play but without sound. He could also get the audio to play in another app but it, of course, did not display the video. I ran into the sanctuary, fired up the new mini, popped in the DVD and up came Apple's DVD Player with full screen video
and stereo sound. Nothing secure/secret/protected with the DVD.
Just wanted him to know that.
All I could do to suggest that none of hi troubles would have occurred should he have supplied media-savvy computers in the first place. I just bit my tongue and wished him luck in contacting Mujibar!
Uh well... were
the computers in the sanctuary? Were they all properly blessed, I think PC's are particularly finicky about these things!
