Oh, I bet you'd be in a world of hurt trying to get them in and out!  Has anyone tried this?  I know I had a lot of trouble retrieving a mini-cd from a slot load iMAC G3!

I sure as heck wouldn't stick a mini-DVD in a slot-loading anything. There is absolutely no way to get them in properly and I've heard of people having to remove drives and take them apart to get the darn things out. The tolerances for slot loading drives are very fine - you can't mess around. Full-size disks only. In computers, I'd only ever try a mini-DVD in a tray-loading drive. If it doesn't work, it's a cinch to remove.

gf,

Your friend might have to buy an external firewire DVD reader/writer.

My Pioneer 109 has tray that looks like it will accept the mini-dvds.

FWIW
