It makes sense that both up and coming but unrelated companies would do what they could for market share. Releasing the merge before it’s formulated would not be in Apple’s tradition!
I agree that dot-Mac is a bit over priced but they have a limited if not exclusive clientele. If they want to incorporate future application that connect to an online server and expect to access the youth market, they will need to reduce the cost of their servers.
Some of the ideas the-Steve mentioned left the home computer on while a person was away, this I don’t think is a formula worth a lot of consideration just so one could link through their dotmac account and retrieve a file forgotten. A focus on energy conservation would win more applause than a wasteful accessory to cover ones ineptitude, as the-Steve presented the reason why we needed dotmac.
I thought many of the ideas and new offerings were exciting though, I just don't see the need for dotmac.
