10.4.10 problem?
« on: August 07, 2007, 04:35:20 AM »
My son's G5 has all of a sudden not only lost the brightness slider, and the hot keys for adjusting the brightness, but it appears that the monitor is at the brightest level possible, causing glare and discomfort. This is since the 10.4.10 update.  He thought at first thatmy grandson had done something to it ( he's 2.5 yrs.old), but I seem to remember reading somewhere that there have been problems with sound and monitor brightness.  Anyone come across this, and know a fix? Thanks. Thinking.gif

I had a problem with strange screen effects: I'm sure I posted it on here but can't find it now - may have been lost in an update.
However, have retrieved details of cure from the other forum on which I post:

Check System Preferences>Universal Access>Seeing>Display:Enhance Contrast

Is the slider set to the far left, where it should be?

You might have increased the contrast accidentally by typing Cmd-Alt-Control (full stop).

As an aside, a Dakota flew over my house last weekend. Unusual sight - more used to Boeing and Airbus jets smile.gif
