USB flash memory as additional system memory?

Some time ago, I read about using USB flash drives as additional memory.
Was it here that I read this?
Is this possible? practical? how?
If so, I am considering getting a 1GB flash drive to use w/ my 12" 1.33GHz G4 PB.

I remember seeing something online, somewhere, a flash drive that can act kinda like ram.
I'm pretty sure it's only for vista tho.
It's known as ReadyBoost.
