Facing a Threat to Farming and Food Supply

"You'll have a tripling of world food demand by 2085 because of higher population and bigger economies, and I would not be surprised to see as much as one-third of today's agricultural land devoted to plants for ethanol," Cline said. "So it's going to be a tight race between food supply and demand."

There's no food left now. The cupboard is bare. - See similar stories from the 1970's. wink.gif
Ya gotta applaud those bunnies for sacrificing their hearing just so some guy in Cupertino can have better TV reception.

What? You're from Missouri? Or just have a short memory? wink2.gif

That link didn't load on Exploder.

Gregg, it's an mp3, don't know if the PC you're using will load it? Haven't used Exploder on a PC in a while to see what preferences that browser might have for playing audio files...

Try downloading it to your desktop and then opening it.

Gregg, the link is a simple file from PBS, if you can't hear or see simple A/V files or podcasts your missing most of the internet.

I don't bother viewing or listening to most vids, A/V files, etc ... and I don't think I'm missing a darn thing. wink.gif

In the past I've watched and listened to all that stuff, and so I can honestly tell you that by not doing so now I don't think I'm missing a darn thing. smile.gif

And ... I should have kept quiet and let this go rather than try to inject a bit of humor. So maybe we can all drop this?

I can only do what our systems administrator has rigged the network to accommodate. I am powerless to modify anything.

I suspect you're correct. The internet is a luxury, not a necessity. We got along fine without any of it for decades, and all of our ancestors did as well. Lots of things we "need" or even truly need in our society are luxuries for more than half of the world's population.

I'm not going to delete it, but I am closing it.

If any of you object, please PM me, and we can talk about it.

Best,
