The speculation begins...

QUOTE
Mr Ive was quickly promoted to design chief and launched his first key product: the translucent iMac G3, modelled defiantly on a gumdrop (or, more likely given his British heritage, a wine gum). As part of his research, Mr Ive went on a field trip to a jelly bean factory.

Video of interview with IVe is obviously a few years old.

Just don't pull a Green Bay Packer move, Steve.

The Packers hired a guy that the CEO was grooming to replace him. He even made the transition to assume those duties, then the Packers abrubtly announced he was 'taking a leave'. They just announced a new CEO who comes to them from Northwestern University! The other guy is out of the organization entirely.
Ya gotta applaud those bunnies for sacrificing their hearing just so some guy in Cupertino can have better TV reception.

He's a great designer but how is he at reading the pulse of the consumer and running an organization while placating the Board and the stockholders? Anyone will have some "big shoes to fill", a "tough act to follow", a "hard row to hoe", etc.. Please follow this link for additional clichés! laugh.gif

After all, Steve came to Apple with years and years of experience and talent, ... Oh wait, that was Mr. Sculley... But Steve di go out and take a 'refresher course' in business management! smile.gif
