Entourage problem
« on: January 22, 2008, 04:11:02 PM »
Had this problem before installing Leopard.
I like to have Folders List displayed in Entourage (View>Folders List).
A couple of months ago i found that every time I quit Entourage and re-opened it, the Folders List had gone off and i have to re-check it from the View Menu, which was quite annoying, but at least was only happening when i had quit and re-opened Entourage.
But now, very often (but not all the time) when i just click from one folder to another the Folders List option just seemed to turn itself off and and i have to put it back on again. this is very annoying as i move from one folder to another all day long.
Has anyone else had and solved this little glitch?

Amanda

Hey mandymac, close out any Office programs>open Entourage while holding down the OPTION KEY>select the identity you want to restore>Check "Verify database integrity" if problems are found they will be presented with the option to rebuild the database.

Rebuilding the database should fix any problems with your preferences holding their place. wink.gif

Hiya
thanks for your help.
I've done what you suggested. Firstly when I did "Verify database integrity", it said there were no problems, but i decided to Rebuild the database anyway.
Didn't work though. Entourage opened without the Folders showing. I enabled it (View>Folders List), quit and re-opened Entourage and they were gone again. Grrrr!
Any other suggestions?

Sounds as though you have a corrupt .PLIST File
These are your .Plist files in

USER/Library/Preferences folder:

    * com.microsoft.OfficeNotifications.plist
    * com.microsoft.DatabaseDaemon.plist
    * com.microsoft.Entourage.plist

* Microsoft folder
    * com.apple.LaunchServices.plist

You can try deleting these files, I would start with com.microsoft.Entourage.plist
With Entourage closed delete the file, empty trash, start Entourage set Folder View, restart entourage. See if it worked.
