All of a suden I'm getting the following messages periodically:

This particular one occurred immediately on completion of a print job on the HP LaserJet 1320 printer.

It sure looks like an HP problem, but why, all of a sudden am I getting this problem. I didn't pay attention intil today, and I'm not sure if I was printing when the others occurred. I'll pay more attention now!

Up until a couple of days ago, I have never had a "radarsubmissions" report before.

Me thinks thou had the scribes copy the wrong text? Although the one they/you sent has been discussed/cussed quite a bit lately. Seems to be fixed now.

Printer problems are often fixed by making sure you have the latest drivers. I suspect that they would now be at HP considering the age of your OS. I'd be glad to send you some off my Leopard disk if you think it might help. I'm about useless when it comes to reading those crash logs but I'd agree that it sure looks like an HP problem. I do know that the OS seriously guards the kernel from just about everything and any attempts to mess with it will probably result in that app being 'killed' by the OS. eek2.gif

As for why it just seems to appear all at once, it only takes one byte or bit to change in an app/plist/config file/etc. for things like this to happen. HP may not have safe guards/repair routines to help prevent this kind of thing. dntknw.gif That's why we often recommend re-installing stuff from their original source. That will usually replace any corrupt sub file(s) that may be causing the problem(s).

I have no clue as to what "radarsubmissions" are or how they might be used with your printer. sad.gif

Of course, there's always a small chance that HP Support will know what's going on. And, if you're lucky, they can tell you in understandable English. wink.gif

HP is notorious for marginalizing Macs. Updated drivers are hard to come by. In fact, when I installed the 1320 printer, I also downloaded a "new" driver from their website. The printer immediately quit working properly, and I had to re-run the 10.4.8 Combo update to get it to work again.

This "radarsubmissions" is an Apple thingy that just cropped up out of the blue.

I remember something flashed on the screen in one of the messages about how to turn "rs" off. But I'll be darned if I can remember what it was. I'll have to be more mindful in the future.

And the job I was printing completed normally. And at no time when I received one of these messages, did anything appear abnormal.

And what ya mean "considering the age of my OS"? toothgrin.gif I'm running 10.4.8, which ain't that old! In fact it appears to be a lot more stable than 10.4.10 and 10.4.11. They seem to get confusing to the OS that they might be throwbacks to 10.4.1. Heaven forbid.

As long as things print as you want, quit complaining! tease.gif laugh.gif Still, it might be worth a trip to the Apple site and even the Forums and search for "radarsubmissions." There may be a tech article that could be readable by mere humans. And there may already be questions/comments in the Forums. I'm pretty busy right now listening to the warning sirens and watching real Radar as some storms pass by. eek2.gif

This link got me to something about having installed TomCat ssuccessfuly.

Thanks for the links. I, for now have told Little Snitch to ignore the radarsubmission message e.g. deny the transmission. I doubt that they get too much attention at Apple anyway. When things get into Frameworks, they have totally lost me. Too much UNIX stuff.

So I moved the "laserjet_1320_series.plist" file to the desktop.
and rebooted.
and re-activated "radarsubmissions" in Little Snitch.

Now I no longer get the "radarsubmissions" report.

Musta been a corrupt .plist file.

Thanks to all for their help and suggestions.
