I was going to start another Yahoo related thread, but I'll just add this to the mix:
I've had a few links that have been results of a Yahoo search go bonkers on me. Today, clicking on one of the search results produced and authentic looking Safari error message window. It said something about the computer being infected with a virus. In addition, the main browser window turned into the familiar looking full color warning page about a virus needing to be dealt with.
I didn't have a cancel button to click, so I just quit. When I reopened Safari and typed in the same URL that the link was supposed to send me to, it behaved itself.
Seems like someone has figured out a way to corrupt search results so that they can send you to this ominous virus warning page and try to get you to bite on the "proceed" option you're presented with. I'm sure the folks at Yahoo are none to happy about this.
This might have happened to me, but I forget which web page it was from. However, suddenly there were things on my screen that were quite unexpected and shocking. They need to get this refined ASAP!
