The headline was just too funny. "As annoying"? What? Just slightly annoying?

QUOTE
Michael Silver, an analyst for Gartner Inc., said a smoother debut for Windows 7 is critical for Microsoft.

"The real hurdle is to get Vista's reputation behind them," he said.

Many are suggesting that MS will drop some of the planned features in order to get the thing 'out-the-door' faster. As they say, Vista has become such an albatross, MS is willing to do almost anything to "regain" consumers 'trust.' Since the slow process that created Vista didn't seem to work, perhaps the speedy process will! Thinking.gif Or not. It certainly will put more pressure on Apple to not delay Snow Leopard, since one of it's main benefits is supposed to be extreme stability and not new features. The 64 bit capabilities could/should also be touted. Hopefully, MW die-hards will finally have a useful OS from MS. dntknw.gif

I saw the exact same article on another site. The part of the headline that I like is "Microsoft says..."
I'm sure it was a direct quote from the director of marketing. oops.gif

smile.gif George's link is hilarious.

That and Paddy's link only prove that MS is once again taking what it sees Apple do and tries desperately to imitate it...badly.

That video is a hoot! At least they had the honesty to mention the similarity to Apple.

Thought we had another thread directly speaking to the 'new' MS $300 million ad campaign. Don't know if this is part of that or part of the previous (on-going?) fake OS thing (can't remember its name).

Anyway, they have set up a 'video booth' outside the Apple Store in London looking for people who want to make an "I'm a PC" movie. Who did the demographic research for this?! OTOH, they seem to know where their previous users are going! tongue.gif <http://news.cnet.com/8301-135...=news&tag=2547-1_3-0-20>

BTW, I just visited the MS site (don't worry, I wore my old work clothes and some boots) looking for that fake ad thing. I didn't even see the word "Vista" on their default page! "Windows" yse. But to se anything about Vista, you have to find the small thumbnail labeled such between others labeled Windows, etc. Wonder if they'll be buying some carpet and broom companies? Anything to help them 'sweep stuff under the rug!' rofl.gif
