I need a different label twice each Sunday. I just use the clunky program that came with my R220 to print on matte finish blank CDs. It came "free" with the printer!
I don't think any player would have a problem with balance while
playing a printed CD. Burning one at 52X, however, is a completely different ball of animals!
It still surprises me to see a CD with a
mailing label stock on it! They always play just fine, so that should also indicate out of balance disks are rare. Still, a
mailing label?! Just imaging what would happen when you hop into the car, that's been sitting in the Sun all day, and pop in one of those CDs.
I wouldn't want to try to clean up the mess of shredded, sticky paper in the player...
However, if the company is using most mass printing processes, they are probably also using shiny and very
slick inks. Those are the only ones I've ever had trouble ejecting from a slot loader. And it's fairly difficult to hold your car bonnet-high to help gravity do its thing!
