Hey! Camino isn't half bad!
« on: May 19, 2003, 09:51:55 PM »
Been running around the globe with it for its first test flight and it seems ok.

Haven't even messed with the preferences that much either.

Might just tell IE to take a -backseat bud- for a while.
On its first getty-up (not to hip on the horse lingo Diana <gr>) without a saddle it appears to be faster than IE. smile.gif

Bill try camino prefs>appearance>fonts - clicky the buttons for font choices and regular or bold. wink.gif

Been in there so long gmann,my sandwedge dried up on me. <gr>
Ended up pulling the 'prefs.js' out because I've been messing around with the fonts so much ... forgot what was 'stock'! smile.gif
They're in the reg mode and back to stock again.

Gonna give it a rest for now.

Next time I'm going to take my weber barbecue in there. biggrin.gif

See me. <g>

I've been using Camino and it's predecessor almost exclusively for months now and have to say I'm pretty satisfied. I did just download the Safari update yesterday but haven't had a chance to play yet.

For me, Camino is the second best browser for Mac.

Before there was Safari it was the best.
But Safari is faster and looks better, IMO.

And Safari's developement (and improvements) is faster.

Don't know if you've discovered one of Camino's best features yet, that is, making a single bookmark out of a collection of tabs.

Create one window with the pages you want as various tabs.
Go to Bookmarks, give it a name and check the little button for "Bookmark All Tabs."

That's all, although it is also handy that you can move items in & out of this tab collection.

I used to do this using Applescript, but this is no much easier.

Oh yeah, after a while, you'll forget what popups are. In all my surfing these days with Camino, I get one popunder from the New York Times.

Now you may want to try Caminicon, a free program to customize the icons, splash screen, etc.

Yes; what Thomas said.

Safaricon (same guy) is nice too, Bill, while Speed Chimera can still be useful for one or two hidden Camino features.smile.gif
