I haven't done this but the guy in this video shows you how to make a solar cell with powdered sugar from donuts and some funny tea from Starbucks:

And now that Shell has dropped out of alternative energy (no surprise there) maybe we should all make our own solar panels in our garage like this guy:

Thanks Krissel for trying that page; I finally used IE 7 on a PC and could see it. I couldn't use Firefox on either the MACs or the PC!
