Custom Avatars and uploading
« on: May 10, 2003, 03:39:15 PM »
We've not allowed the uploading of custom avatars at this time, BUT if you would like a custom avatar, and you no where to host it....have we got a deal for you!

Send the custom avatar to admin@techsurvivors.net we'll upload it, and send you the url for placement in the appropriate field.

Fear those who do not care; they neither kill nor betray, but betrayal and murder exist because of their silent consent.

I'm confused; not an unusual state of mind these days.  biggrin.gif

My avatar is a Navy Seabee Logo uploaded to pbase.com.  It appears to be working fine, but this thread seems to indicate that it should not be working.

Help!  thanx.gif

 Glad you brought it up!

As you remembered, your avatar is "remote hosted";  it resides on another server, and is called upon here.  Others who don't have a site, or whose host disallows "live linking" can avail themselves of our service.

If one doesn't use the terminology every day, it is  huh.gif   doh.gif

Is it possible to use an icon used for folders, etc. as an avatar?

Mayo convert the 'icon' over to an image -jpg or gif- are the most likely candidates.
