Tax collector: Pay online to avoid swine flu

Pinellas County Tax Collector Diane Nelson's office sent its annual news release reminding people the annual tax notice is on the way. There's a new wrinkle this autumn, though -- the H1N1 virus.

"One way to save time – and avoid crowds in this year’s H1N1 Flu season – is to stay away from county offices and pay online," today's news release says.

I don't even trust some government! When our area was annexed several years ago, the town used their Zip Code in the address of our 'welcoming' letter. Apparently unbeknownst to the bureaucrats is that USPS service areas have very little to do with government boundaries. wallbash.gif All the letters were returned, of course. And, then, to add a bit of illegality to the event, the letters were placed in our mailboxes by town employees! I feel so comfortable knowing we have such intelligent leaders... rolleyes.gif Fortunately, since that time, we've voted most of that group out of office. tiphat.gif

Kris, for the longest time I've had good luck with USPS, but most recently I've lost two shipments. One was from Apple.
