New web font capabilities coming?
« on: November 12, 2009, 07:16:43 PM »
I believe it was Paddy or Kriss complaining about the dearth of universally available font families for the web. This article explains two similar solutions combining into something that seems to be gaining support from designers, font foundries and at least one browser. Good video demo, a couple of interesting links and a page to show what you will get in any broswer as compared to what FireFox 3.6 will provide (FF3.6 is still in ßeta, BTW) <Web Open Font Format backed by Mozilla, type foundries, ars technica> Not sure how the "licensing" will be done, however. THERE ARE TWO TYPES OF COUNTRIES
Those that use metric = #1 Measurement system
And the United States = The Banana system
