I was away for most of this weekend...just got back.

Nah, "shiny" may have to keep tossing them cans...the board is on summer hiatus, no time lately for any online shananigans(sp?).  Summer up here is waaaay too short.

...oh, the poor bast*rd...N. Dakota, eh?

This weekend I tried golf for the first time in my life...just hitting some balls on the driving range....more difficult than I thought, but I may take up the game anyway. I was told I did very well for a "first timer", it was kinda fun...will have to see how I do on the course.  biggrin.gif  biggrin.gif  rolleyes.gif

kps, they tell all beginners that to sucker you in. To lure you to pay expensive lessons, equipment (and then more lessons and more equipment because you think the lessons doesn't help so you'll need more expensive equipment... it's a catch 22) and then you probably need a membership in some club and have to sell your soul to afford the yearly fee.... and then you're forced to wear really ugly clothes too, and they are expensive as well (the more checkered pants, the more money).  laugh.gif

I did that golf thing once for a few years.... now I've put the clubs in the attic, I play much better golf on the computer!

Actually these were good friends of mine that told me, so I wasn't being suckered in by some "golf pro" for lessons and I used someone else's clubs.
Cost me $12 for 4 buckets of balls...

There are plenty of public golf courses here and they're building more, but there are as many private courses as well and I have no ambition to take it to that level.  wink.gif

Focus on perfecting the seven and four [or] five irons, driver and the all important putter.
The rest just makes the bag heavier. <gr>
