Microsoft to Double Down on HTML5 with Internet Explorer 9?

Heck...if they'd just get rid of all the extraneous, non-standard garbage that causes standards-compliant sites to fall over, I'd be happy. If they'd prefer to stay in the dark ages, fine - just don't mess up my pages while doing so. rant.gif

(I think we should all start putting "this site best NOT viewed with Internet Explorer" on our sites) wink.gif

Picking on Internet Explorer Explorer is like fishing with dynamite — it’s just too easy to be fun anymore.

That quote might make a great sentence in a footer, also! rofl.gif
THERE ARE TWO TYPES OF COUNTRIES
Those that use metric = #1 Measurement system
And the United States = The Banana system
CAUTION! Childhood vaccinations cause adults!

I love that disclaimer line!  biggrin.gif  When I first started my mural site I spent hours tracking down a problem where things weren't working right. Finally figured out the problem was IE. I added this to my "Welcome" page:

If you are using Internet Explorer as your web browser--especially an older version of IE, it’s possible the slideshow button may not work. You may also have trouble clicking on the thumbnails using that browser. Try using Firefox or Safari. (Even if you don’t have problems, I’d ditch IE--but I digress... .)

A couple of IMacs, an iPad, a bunch of iPhones...two of which don’t live here, but I still pay for. Oh yeah, wife, daughters, and yes—a grandson!

I actually looked to see if there was a little graphic for "best NOT viewed in Internet Explorer" and came across the anybrowser.org site. Lots of little graphics one can use - some quite amusing, though none say "best NOT..." as that would be counter to their purpose. wink.gif

The strangest one is "Best viewed without a grizzly bear in your pocket"...
