Here ya go-
10.6.4 Combo (about 785MB)

The incremental update available via Software Update is about 315.5 MB.

In addition to general operating system fixes that enhance the stability, compatibility and security of Mac systems, Apple said it includes fixes that:

• resolve an issue that causes the keyboard or trackpad to become unresponsive
• resolve an issue that may prevent some Adobe Creative Suite 3 applications from opening
• address issues copying, renaming, or deleting files on SMB file servers
• improve reliability of VPN connections
• resolve a playback issue in DVD Player when using Good Quality deinterlacing
• resolve an issue editing photos with iPhoto or Aperture in full screen view
• improve compatibility with some braille displays

The latest update for Mac OS X also includes Safari 5, released last week with extensions, expanded HTML5 support, and the new Reader functionality.

No thanks, I'm still trying to recover from a Brother software update which deleted the scanner from the MFC! eek2.gif

We've joined the Snow Leopard users. Went to the Apple Store in Solihull (near Birmingham) and bought a 15in MacBook Pro. Been playing with it for much of today - when I've had the chance biggrin.gif

First thing I did, though, was run Software Update, so it had 10.6.4 installed first thing this morning. So now we have a G3 running OS9, the G5 running Tiger and this one. Oh, and the PC running XP Pro.....  rolleyes.gif

I was really impressed by how easily it made a wireless connection to the G5, which appears in the sidebar of the MacBook. Much easier than when I wanted a wireless connection between the G3 and G5.

Congrats, Neil, and welcome to the world of Snow Leopard and Intel. biggrin.gif Seems to be the day for expensive purchases. wink.gif I went into Henry's Cameras today to get some archival slide storage sheets (my very old ones from 30 years ago were going sticky...ew...and definitely not of archival quality if they do that!) and came out with the slide sheets and a shiny new Canon Digital Rebel T2i, also know as the 550D. It was on sale. I'd been dithering over a 7D (too expensive) or a used 50D for months now, but the Digital Rebel has the same sensor as the 7D and the same video capabilities and it was just slight more than half the cost of the 7D, so I bit. The image quality will probably outclass my 40D now - I'll be running tests as soon as I get that battery charged up!

BTW - did you get the glossy screen or the matte one? And how do you like it, if you got the glossy one?

Welcome to the SL club! You'll find that it is one mean, lean operating system. IMHO, it beats the pants off all its predecessors.

Got the glossy - until you mentioned it I hadn't realised I had the option. Failed to do my research properly, didn't I? Still, we're happy with it and soon adjusted to the new look.

Mind you, the lad who served us didn't know as much as I thought he should. When I asked about running Windows and mentioned Boot Camp, asking if it was true it was part of the OS, he had to go off and check with a colleague. I would have thought that was a basic question that's likely to come up with most switchers. Still, none of us knows everything, even about our own jobs, and hopefully it's part of his learning curve. His enthusiasm for all things Apple was certainly in evidence and felt genuine.

We bought a (wired) mouse too. Maybe we should have been more patient since we're rapidly getting used to the trackpad.

And congrats on the camera, Paddy - we look forward to seeing some award-winning shots wink.gif
