Have been getting the same message... I think since Leopard, and have been told that it is one of those that can safely be ignored.  Bothersome, but not troublesome.

Mac OS X: Disk Utility's Repair Disk Permissions messages that you can safely ignore and Apple Discussions - SUID FIle Warning. The message that you are getting doesn't seem to be included in the list but my guess is that you can ignore it.

This Apple document may help. Generally, if DU/DW can't fix a permission it's not really a problem, as long, of course, the System can still access the file. Note that these permissions checking are ~99% System files. Only rarely does an app even get any permissions checked on any of its files. What this means is that unless the OS is having problems, these warnings are probably not worth worrying about. It also means one should always use a utility that is guaranteed to be used on the OS version you have. wink.gif

It's the 9th one on the list of warnings that Apple says you can safely ignore, Jon. smile.gif
