That *(%^#& beach ball
« on: July 13, 2010, 01:17:30 PM »
I often see the spinning beach ball. Too often. It happens mostly when working in Safari, the drive has gone to sleep or after having closed the lid on my MacBook Pro and then open it again. It then stops everything and many times I have to hold the start button until it shuts down.

This is happening daily. What's happening? wallbash.gif

Good tips at that link, be sure to read all the comments. Also, since you mentioned awakening (and closing the lid usually forces a 'sleep,' also), how many icons do you have on your Desktop? The more you have, the slower the start up.

Those that use metric = #1 Measurement system
And the United States = The Banana system

Thanks, guys. I'm going to read, digest and try some of the suggestions. I had read the Mc World article, but the comments following that article seem to be offering additional suggestions.
