Well, the new Airport Extreme was just part of the extremely frustrating afternoon...
Even though it claimed all was well, I still could not access the interwebs...re-booting the cable router seems to have fixed that...first turn on this without that being powered while connected to those but not these...
And, then Judy's MBP couldn't connect...between several deep sighs, things just worked!
But I think I also lost the Ethernet connection on the Brother MFC. Since the new Airport has four Ethernet ports, I wasn't worried that the old switch seemed to respond on only two ports. However, the only way to communicate with the Brother seems to be USB. Of course, I moved the Epson USB printer to the Airport USB port. Maybe tomorrow I will try he Brother there and put the Epson back on the powered USB hub. :dnkw:Problem is, the cable has been out several times, also.
Perhaps worst of all is that the Brother's scanner won't give me anything except an error. I fear the "Big Boom" may have done more than make a lot of noise!!! And it didn't even blink the lights. But who knows what came through the cable lines?
Oh well, in less than 36 hours, we'll be on the road to FL to pack up our two GRANDkids and their mom and bring them back here for...
That will add a MacBook and the old iGloo to the network! I'm considering a USB adaptor to add WiFi to the iGloo.
ONWARD and downward...
