SuperDuper 2.6.2. question-new to SuperDuper

Thanks Jon, Paddy and Krissel.

I did a SMART scan w/DiskU yesterday an and the drive I'm replacing came up clean.

Jon, I gave up bravery sometime during the Viet Nam War, but I regress.

Paddy and Krissel,

This morning when I woke up the questioned HD I just got the spinning beach ball so I restarted
and the Finder worked, no beach bal spinning.

I'm running DW now on that drive and replacing it come hell or high water.

I'll let ya's know how it turns out.

You know, I'll be hanging around here more often as time allows me.

So much progress on OSX over the years has left me deficient in my skills with dealing w/it.

So I.m going to go replace that sucker!

Im' putting the new HD and it turns out it's a Western Digital. The default jumper setting for the WD's is Cable Select.

For the jumper settings do I use Master-Slave or do I use Cable Select setting, as Apple and Dave suggest?

I checked WD's site and all they have is SATA info. At least that's all I could find.

I'm going to use Master and Slave and see what happens.

If it works I'll be golden, if not...........I'll try Cable select.

The End........ I'll post if anything goes wrong.

I can't say enough about SuperDuper! What a program. It transferred everything over in a little over an hour
at an average speed of around 8GiB per minute.

Now there's a 300MiB Seagate in there and the 320MiB Western Digital I put in today and so far so good.

I couldn't set the jumpers for Master and Slave, because the Maxtor HD I was transferring from only allowed me to choose from Master or CS enabled so I used the Cable Select setting on both and I did turn Journaling on.

All night long I was thinking about what Krissel said, "Go for it". I figured if Krissel and Paddy could be so confident,  
with SuperDuper, there was no more they could post about it, everything would be alright!

What a great program SuperDuper is. It's almost as good as Norton Utilities.

I allowed my son to take my 500 GiB WD My book that had a Firewire connection to U of Wisconsin. I have to find another
for backups. The Firewire is what I want. They have come down in price since I bought that one in 2007.

I have to check the WD website.
