Thanks Krissel, I had missed that one; this is part of a series of "funny" science oriented things that they've posted!

Too Troo!!! I often tell the barber that when I start 'losing' the hair on my head, I'm just going to let the ones in my ear grow...and then comb them over...

Judy left early this month for a 13 day trip. She and our oldest granddaughter both calculated the weight of the bag by standing on the bathroom scale, with and without the bag, then doing the math. They both claimed the bag was only 42 pounds! Well under the 50 pound "free" limit. Of course, when she checked in at the counter (and I think I just discovered why they call it that!), the nice lady said it was three pounds over! eek2.gif I checked when I got back home and could find no missing furniture, so I have no idea where that 11 pounds came from...

Fortunately, living in the gentile, Southern-hospitality region has some advantages, the nice lady said, "No problem, no charge!" But it does make one wonder how often and who checks those scales... Thinking.gif However, knowing that she would be boarding at Washington National, Judy decided to ship a few 'items' back instead of leaving them in the suit case. Two boxes, neither of which weighed more than two pounds, including the box(!) and she got the weight down to 46 pounds! ...maybe they were estimating the weight of those boxes when she boarded... dntknw.gif ...or maybe there is more mass under Memphis than Washington...I know there is more hot air...
THERE ARE TWO TYPES OF COUNTRIES
Those that use metric = #1 Measurement system
And the United States = The Banana system

Reminded me of this from the days when tobacco advertising was still allowed on the telly over here....

Still makes me laugh.

The actor is Gregor Fisher who made a name for himself over here as Rab C. Nesbitt, a drunken Glaswegian with an impenetrable accent yet it still managed to be a big hit in the whole country and ran for 60 episodes  Thinking.gif  biggrin.gif
