Steve Jobs taking medical leave of absence from Apple

http://www.macworld.com/article/157215/201...of_absence.html

No reasons given, but given his past issues, I'm thinking this cannot be particularly good. sad.gif

From the NYT article:
QUOTE
In recent months, he has looked increasingly frail, according to people who have seen him....

Mr. Jobs suffers from immune system issues common with people who have received liver transplants and, as a result, his health suffers from frequent “ups and downs,” according to a person with knowledge of the situation, who agreed to speak on condition of anonymity because he was not authorized to discuss it.

In recent weeks, Mr. Jobs began a down cycle and slowed his activities at Apple, the person said. Mr. Jobs has been coming to the office about two days a week, and appeared increasingly emaciated, the person said. He frequently lunched in his office, rather than in the company cafeteria, the person said.

Sure hope he gets well again!!!

assure.gif  I heard him say his life is Apple - it does look as though his various illnesses are bearing down on him.  Remember, he had pancreatic cancer as well as a liver transplant.  Either one of those could have taken his life.

I wish him the best, and hope he can return to his "great love", but hope they have set up a transition policy, just in case.

Seems I've heard all the teeth gnashing and speculation at least twice before...I doubt Steve is actually stupid about his longevity when he shows so much intelligence about so many other things. Nor do I think he is the only one at Apple with the marketing sense to keep things moving. Not that these facts have anything to do with the stock price. That is purely the speculation of, mostly, what other people think (hope) will happen to its price. wink.gif

Makes me wonder exactly what some people are more concerned about; Steve's health or their "investment." rolleyes.gif

The "fake" Steve Jobs says to leave the real one alone:

Not that I think everyone will; I know, from having people I love heavily invested in cancer, that it's hard enough to concentrate on getting well and staying well if you are not a public figure like Steve Jobs.  I wish him well and know that if the cure is out there then he should be able to find it!  :praying smiley:
