Applications that launch on restart
« on: January 19, 2011, 12:01:15 PM »
Helping a lady acquaintance get her iMac intel duo upgraded to SL, and general clean-up, has 3 applications that launch on start-up. I know this subject has been posted here but I must be using the wrong words when I search cause I cannot find it here or on the Apple forums. Where is the "shut off"????? wallbash.gif

System Preferences / Accounts (or Users I think in 10.4?) / Login Items (might even say start up) / select what you want to stop and hit the "-" button (you might have to unlock first).

Don't forget that little search box on the "Main" (Show All) pref panel. Just start typing something in there that you even think is in a preference, and it will start highlighting where it could be. I think it's one of the neatest search indicators I've ever seen. wink.gif

And, be sure to show the lady. It could help her and save her having to call you...especially if your wife is home! eek2.gif But don't worry about us telling your wife, your secrets safe with us and all our friends... laughhard.gif

THERE ARE TWO TYPES OF COUNTRIES
Those that use metric = #1 Measurement system
And the United States = The Banana system

Groaner.gif  or something. You can bet I will show her.

AND I DO appreciate ya'lls  discretion  on the other matter. thumbup.gif harhar.gif
