Video problems with Nvidia drivers in Lion
« on: August 05, 2011, 06:02:09 PM »
This isn't a problem I'm seeing yet because neither I nor the school district is using Lion yet (next delivery of new MAC's):

QUOTE
Most systems that appear to be affected are 2010 MacBook Pros running a Core i5 or Core i7 processor and with Nvidia 330M graphics, but some iMac systems have also been affected. The problem appears to be an issue with the handling of the Nvidia graphics card, either in the drivers or in the firmware of the card, and may be rooted in how the systems are handling the switch between the onboard and discrete graphics chips in these dua-GPU systems. Affected users have found that if they force their systems to run on the integrated graphics chip then the prevalence of the crashes lessens, if they happen at all.

How many 2010 MacBook Pros does the System have?
THERE ARE TWO TYPES OF COUNTRIES
Those that use metric = #1 Measurement system
And the United States = The Banana system

As a rule we haven't been buying MBP's but only MB's!  Oddly enough a order in the works does have MBP's on it so I'll have to check that one!

I think the Macbook I've been using for certification classes is a 2010 model (Apple GSX is down for the weekend) but it has the NVIDIA GeForce 320M chipset in it so I think it would probably be good. . .not good enough to have the problem at least!
