Apps folder icon
« on: September 01, 2011, 10:23:38 PM »
iMac Intel i3 21.5" OS 10.6.8

How does one put the Apps folder icon in the Dock? So as to be able to open the folder from the Dock
rather then opening the folder from the Menu Go Drop down menu.

Thanks Jack W.

Your answer forced me to look further into the matter. I found the complete answer in Mac Help.

It's a typical case of when in doubt read the manual! See attachment.

Notice that Applications goes to the left (or above) the Separator and Files and Folders to the right (or below) the Separator.

Thanks again.

I find the lack of "separators" in the Dock rather annoying. There are ways to create 'dummy' "apps" and even graphics (with the "app" extension on them) that can be used. I guess my habit of keeping at least one Finder window open at al times negates my use of the Dock which I keep hidden. dntknw.gif

Be aware that there are multiple ways to view the contents of folders in the Dock. Right-click (two-finger click) on a folder to see the choices.
