I have no idea, but I have several items with duplicate instances. Some have different Users, others are all mine. I don't have any named "automount." If you use the "Inspect" function, you may find that they both have the same Parent process. If that's the case, I'd say it's normal or at least not a problem.

Are you networking your machines, using one as a Server? If so, from what I've read about automount, that may be normal.

Hopefully, someone smarter than me may be able to shed more light on it.

The mac  is connected to a router  to use  dropbox on an other house ...

So maybe that's why...

I'd say let "root" do what it wants. You don't really have much control over it, anyway. dntknw.gif

Given that you've got two drives linked via Dropbox, that's why you have two processes - one for each. Do you have Dropbox set up as a login item?

Yes dropbox is a login item, now i know  a bit more about automount
