Ah, the Amphicar (Wikipedia). I used to have a Triumph Herald, and it was the Herald engine that was used in the amphibian. Guess a German/UK "collaboration" must have seemed a little strange in 1961...

Nice to see one in such apparently good condition. I'm sure there's not too many of them left.

Oh, I've only ever seen one in my life; not in use but in a museum at Dearborn, Michigan I think. It's a marvelous idea and I do so love the "Ducks"

We used to ride one across the Shenandoah to what is now called the Thunderbird Archeological District where we dug out flint fragments and other things the Paleo Indians left behind. Lots of fun if you're not old and beat up!

Neil, our weather won't be like that for much longer. Fall is rushing in and winter looks to arrive early.

Sneakers chatted with the owners of the "boat car", but I don't remember what he told me about the conversation.

Gunug, the ducks ... as in the University of Oregon ducks.
