Usual caveat applies: No updating until you have a bootable, stable backup. Period. This should give you something to do while the servers work through the massive DL loads?

Many report that iCloud must have iOS5 or 10.7.2 to be useable. Others have said that iCloud is still being limited to developers for most of this morning. "The initial day/week/month of any release of anything is not the day/week/month to try it." Choose the time period based on how important the release is; "day"=some minor app, "week" = a major app, "month"=an OS update, 90days=a new OS...
