To answer your question, yes, they're talking about the same malware. Doesn't seem to be anything new there. Although there are some old opinions that may never die. Still amazes me that "security software" firms are asked for opinions while they try to sell software. rolleyes.gif Does anyone actually expect any salesman to tell you everything about his own product as compared with any competitor? doh.gif

If reading about this stuff is a bother, I'm not sure why you would spend time reading about it in Scientific American. dntknw.gif While they are a fine magazine, they are not computer experts. Besides that, it takes months for most magazines to be written, edited, printed and mailed. They are really not much good for fast-breaking information.

Why not go to a source that knows more about computers? Maybe a forum like TS? Thinking.gif WOW.gif No one here knows everything but we certainly can provide a more in-depth and at the same time wider experienced facts about the Mac and its problems. And the usually supplied links would fill Wiki! laugh.gif

I didnt read it, my husband did, as he reads SciAm, but he is getting mighty disgusted with that magazine, as there is a lot of hokey info in it nowadays.
We think some of their articles are written by people who have not done enough research into the subject that they are talking about.

Some of their alarmist reporting is so politicized that it is almost scientifically useless. My husband is about to stop subscribing, tho he will continue with Science News, MIT magazines, and a few others.

Oh, that is funny!
We just bought a new toilet and after my husband had installed it, I found this video,

Can you just IMAGINE if our grandsons saw this video, they just might run upstairs and try this. Lordy me, I hope not.
Imagine calling the cesspool guys and have them suck that stuff out of our tank, if it would make it that far that is.

But my friend's little boy grabbed the electrolux vacuum hoze and stuck it in their toilet and sucked the water out of the bowl.
My friend called me up and said that he had seen that done on TV and decided to try it, he was only 5, lucky he didnt get electrocuted, as the hoze had that wire in it that goes to the power brush/nozzle thing.
